"Drifted Oats"

After visiting Saint Augustine, Florida, I drove my family down the A1A, had a great late afternoon meal at the "Sunset Grill" and then took them to the public access at Crescent Beach.  I was exhausted and decided to take a cat nap in the car while they went and played in the surf. When I woke up an hour or so later, I noticed in my rear view mirror the incredible complexity of the sea oats scattered along the edge of the beach. The rays of the setting sun were brilliantly illuminating the oats, causing them to almost glow against the dark blue sky.  I took out my sketch book and documented the moment.
